Was extremely windy today! Hike took wife and I about 9.5 hours, taking it slow and stopping often. It is absolutely breathtaking up there! But knowing when to turn around is half of it. The hike is 10 miles round-trip and involves a bit of class 2 scramble to reach the final destination. But it’s totally worth hiking up to hallett . Follow the Flattop Trail signs as you will, in fact, summit Flattop Mountain before Hallet Peak. Favorite hike with above the tree line views!! The views from the Hallett summit are even better.
